Mitchell Springs is a first for the Northern Territory, combining a number of elements to create a contemporary living space shared by lower-income families, individuals seeking independent living homes and corporate clients.
The accessible community-focused development delivered 24 apartments including 8, liveable housing units under NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) and 8, NRAS (National Rental Affordability Scheme) in its first stage.
Bellamack Community Hub, is planned to have four separate buildings fully subdivided with a shared access driveway and is set to have a 850 sqm Gym & Wellness Centre, 500 sqm Veterinary Clinic, 118 place Child Care Centre and a Medical Centre. The plan is to develop and deliver the community hub ready for locals to start accessing and using within 18 months.
From 1 July 2018, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will become available in the Darwin Urban and Central Australia regions of NT.
From this date, Territorians will be eligible to be approved for individual packages which may include specialist disability accommodation under the NDIS.
For the NDIS Zest have selected land in Stuart Park and Fannie Bay, both are close to local services, medical professionals, public transport and are within 5 kilometres of Darwin CBD.
The intent is to tailor design and construct more liveable housing for participants in the NDIS. To achieve this Partnerships with service providers and organisations who share in the same vision is critical.
